What are you willing to risk...?
mobile and speed
lipstick and drink
Road Respect is embarking on a campaign that highlights the consequences in making silly, split-second decisions whilst driving, that may have fatal consequences for not just for you, but to your passengers, other road users and pedestrians. This year, the Road Respect Ground Team will be touring the North East to engage with people about the consequences in driving irresponsibly. There will be driving simulators to test you're driving skills, with competition prizes for the best driver. Furthermore, there will be stacks of freebies, interactive games and loads of written material for you to take away. If you're unsure about any road related issues, just ask one of the friendly Roadshow team members - who will be there to assist you in any queries you may have. Check out the 'Roadshow Calendar' to find the nearest Roadshow near you.

Which Weapon Do You Choose?
Taking a phone call and putting on lipstick are fairly harmless tasks that you may do every day, however, doing them behind the wheel could have fatal consequences for you, your passengers and other drivers. Driving irresponsibly can have the same consequences as putting a gun to your head or a knife to your neck - you're going to be killed, and worse, be branded a killer! This also includes having a few drinks before jumping into the driver's seat, or breaking the speed limit to save a few seconds. You may as well choose a fatal weapon and kill yourself because that's the likelihood of your destiny
Road Respect's latest advertising campaign wants to bring home to drivers of all ages that driving is an activity that should be taken seriously and it isn't acceptable to pick up a phone or put on lipstick whilst behind the wheel, or you may find yourself behind bars or behind a coffin door.
If you still don't think that your actions in the driving seat can have such a life changing impact, then maybe you should look at the facts below and choose your weapon

Using your phone and driving carries 3 penalty points and a £60 fine. You can even be disqualified.
Drink driver - for the sake of a few pints
30 times more likely to crash if you're driving over the drink drive limit.

Drink driving carries with it a ban, a fine, imprisonment and stays on your licence for 11 years.
Distracted Driver - for the sake of a song...
